Spirit's nursing team has been specifically chosen for their expertise in the delivery of complex care at home and their acute understanding of independent living.
All our nurses within the team are Registered Nurses educated to Diploma or Degree level; they also possess a wide range of Post Registration qualifications.
Spirit is committed to the on-going professional training and development of their nurses to ensure our clients receive the highest standard of nursing practice and advice possible. By understanding the need to keep abreast of the latest evidence based practice though education we believe our clients ultimately benefit.
Our nurses possess experience in working with individuals with profound physical disabilities and acquired brain injury. The majority of the nurses employed by Spirit have specialist knowledge in critical care or spinal cord injury and other neurological disorders. We work together as a team, meeting regularly in order that we are able to share our knowledge and reflect on previous practice and experiences, offering us the opportunity to implement change where constructive and beneficial.
As a Spirit client you will have a named nurse who will visit you and who will also be contactable by telephone or email in accordance with your wishes. In partnership with you, your nurse will be responsible for writing and updating your care plan.
Our nurses will be involved in the clinical training of your Personal Assistants ensuring that they are competent to deliver your care safely and effectively. A nurse will be available outside of office hours for emergency calls to support and give advice by telephone if required.
